Spike014 you cant drop izzet surely?

I wouldn't have to attackin midfielders I would have butt and kilkenny. In a way I can't drop Kilkenny he has been very impressive so far.

I can see what you're getting at, you just need to realise that Izzet can do the holding in midfield as good as if not better than Butt.

Some interesting posts but as i see, the team basically picks itself.

I think the back 5 (including the goalie) will the same as what started at Sunderland. So Vaeson in goal, Melchiot right back, Upson left back, Martin Taylor and Cunningham in the centre.

I think Izzet, Kilkenny and Johnson were all rested from the Millwall game so they would be in peak fitness coming into the West Ham match, so i think they will all come back in and after Gray has scored twice in the last 2 games, he really should start. So that means a midfield of Johnson on the right wing, Gray on the left with Kilkenny partnering Izzet in the centre.

I think we, along with Bruce knows that Dunn needs to start, which i believe why he was on the bench against Millwall, so with Jarosik also having a couple of poor games Dunn will take his place and play just off the striker, which will allow him to play the returning to for Gray also.

As for the man Dunn plays off, if Heskey is fit it will be him but if he isn't it will be Pandiani, a real no-brainer really.

Anyone agree or disagree?

I agree totally....
Upson and Tiny in Central Defence; KC on the Bench....
Left back is a real problem apart from obviously playing Jamie there....

I also take ATL's point about Etherington because it will be his supply to Sheringham and Harewood that needs to be stopped....
That's where the main threat will come from....

I'm not saying i would play Upson at left-back, i'm just saying that's what i think the team will be.

Assuming Heskey and Gray are not fit then i would do with a line up like this.

.............................Vaesen..........................

..Mario/Kenny....Taylor.....Upson.....Clapham...

...Pennant........Kilkenny....Izett.........DJ

........................Dunn........................

......................Pandiani..........................

Subs
Taylor
Laz
Jarosik
Butt
Kuqi.

Althogh Kuqi is not ready for the prem we need a striker on the bench just in case. Izett and Kilkenny can take turns in holding the midfield. Dunn and Pandiani could work well.
